The Parker Memorial Library offers a variety of interactive programs designed to foster a love of reading at a young age.

For infants ages 0-2, we offer the Bambinos program – a baby friendly story time with songs, rhymes and play to entertain your baby while beginning to teach language skills. We have two meetings on Tuesday mornings, one at 9 and another at 11. Registration is required.

We offer Little Explorers: A sensory and fine motor skill playtime for children ages 1-4. This program encourages exploration of all the senses in a playful and relaxed setting. We have two meetings on Monday mornings, one at 9:30 and another at 11. Registration is required.

Preschoolers will enjoy Preschool Time, a story and pre-reading program for 3-5 year olds. Stories, songs and rhymes are followed by time to explore learning stations that teach various skills such as pre-writing, letter identification, fine motor skills and number awareness. This program meets on Thursday Mornings at 10:30. Registration is required.

Be sure to check out our new 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program for any child who is not yet in school.

Older children can participate in book club, science and craft programs and special events. Different programs will be offered each month, so make sure you stop in to the children’s room for a calendar or keep an eye on our Facebook Page for upcoming events.
